Student Activities

Stanford provides a myriad of growth and learning opportunities beyond the classroom. Students take advantage of these in many ways and for many reasons. Some intertwine extracurricular activities to enrich and deepen their academic experience while others add outside pursuits to create a balance for the Stanford academic rigor.

Activities can also be useful for exploring a possible career path, meeting faculty and other students, and developing leadership skills. In any case, Stanford offers a wealth of possibilities (too many to contain on any one website!). Yet, many of them are found through the links on this page.

Athletics

More than 80 percent of students take advantage of the extensive athletic facilities and programs offered at the club,intercollegiate, intramural and instructional levels at Stanford. This site features information on the wide range of athletic opportunities available.

Student Activities Office

The Office of Student Activities is “dedicated to helping students make things happen.” It is the hub of information about student activities from ASSU and student organizations to fraternities and sororities. Students will also find policies and advice for planning activities, starting new organizations and fundraising on this site.

Student Sponsored Programs Funding Requests

Stanford student organizations usually fund events from organizational budgets or from ASSU.  Sometimes the organizers of larger programs and events also seek funding from administrative offices on campus.  This website provides a simple way to apply for funding from one or more of these offices.
