Branner

Jessica Laird '10

Subjects: Math & Economics

Hi, I’m Jessica.  I am a Resident Tutor at Branner for Math and Economics.  Thrilling, I know.  And I am studying… well I am technically supposed to have declared Economics by now, but I just haven’t gotten around to it.  I am from Ann Arbor, MI, which is like Palo Alto with less rug stores and more snow.  I lived at home this summer, and among not many other things folded paper and took burrs out of my family’s new poodle puppy Juno – named after the movie, not the Roman goddess.  I enjoy reading, biking, cooking, eating (chocolate mostly), and sometimes running.  I don’t do anything particularly organized on the Stanford Campus because I am lazy.

Faisan

Frank Fan '10

Subjects: Chemistry, Math & Physics

Major: Material Science

Hi!  I'm a junior from Webster, New York (the part of the state with cows and stuff, not the city) majoring in Materials Science and probably minoring in math and economics.  When I'm not saving the world from evil problem sets, I like trying to play squash, writing clues for The Game, and taking long walks on the beach.

David Wu '09

Subjects: Economics, Math, & Statistics

Major: Economics & Material Science

I'm David, hailing from sunny southern California and will be Resident Tutor for Faisan. I enjoy talking about nearly any subject and am particularly interested in financial markets, interdisciplinary fields, science fiction, hi-tech gadgets, food, and strategy games.

Thomas Fu '11

Subjects: Math & Physics

Hey, I'm a sophomore and I'll be tutoring physics and math. Right now I'm thinking I'm going to major in Mechanical Engineering but that's still debatable. I grew up in Washington, D.C. but I'm loving the West Coast. During my free time I like to play guitar, basketball and soccer.

Chris Chen '11

Subjects: Chemistry

Hey, I'm Chris from Henderson, Nevada, a suburb of Las Vegas. I'm a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering and tutor in chemistry and math (CME). I enjoy playing video games (Rock Band!), dancing, drinking tea, cooking, and Asian music. Of course, I'm still willing to discuss or try anything even if it doesn't fall under my expertise. Feel free to drop by anytime for help or just to chat!

Adeline Wong '10

Subjects: Chemistry, Math, & Physics

Major: Math

Hello!  My name's Adeline, and I'm a junior majoring in math, probably with a minor in computer science.  I like wild mushrooms, new ideas and perspectives, receiving things in the mail, math, and my trusty stuffed turtle Turby, among other things.  Occasionally, you may see me unicycling to class or around campus.  I'm rather quiet by nature and am very much interested in learning about (pretty much) everything and how they connect.

Elizabeth Kao '10

Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Math, & Physics

Major: Biology

Hi!  I'm from Norman, Oklahoma, though I've also lived in four other states (not including California).  I like taking random walks around campus when I get the chance, as well as playing music and frisbee with friends.  Otherwise, I enjoy reading xkcd and drinking bubble tea sans bubbles.

Ujamaa

Dagem Mammo '10

Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, & Math

I'm Dagem and I'm a junior from Houston majoring in biology.  I like to boast that I'm an Ethiopian-American. I'm a big soccer fan (more specifically, a fan of Liverpool Football Club) and I enjoy my time working with monkeys in a neurobiology lab. Other hobbies include running, biking, and playing Halo (2) with friends.

I'm looking forward to my time as the resident tutor in math and chemistry (and biology, too) at Ujamaa.

Leila Beach '09

Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Math & Physics

Major: Chemistry

Hello all. I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life and didn't stray to far from home for school. Over the past couple of summers, I've done research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and at the medical school on campus. I'd be more than happy to discuss getting involved with research on campus, being a pre-med, or applying to med school with anyone who's interested. Hope to see you around!

Apoorva Rajagopal '10

Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Math & Physics

Major: Math

Hello!  I'm starting my crazy and fun Junior year!  I'm majoring in Math and planning to double-major in ME.  I love math and science, trekking through hard problems, and learning random things for the fun of it.  I like to hang out with friends, play tennis, squash, badminton, climb, and just stay active and busy.  I love meeting new people, so please feel free to call, e-mail, or say "Hi" and chat if you see me around.  I'm really looking forward to a great year as RT in Twain!

Hi Everyone! I’m a senior studying Electrical Engineering and co-terming in Management Science & Engineering. I come from Singapore and I’m the resident tutor at Cedro (woohoo!). Otero

Jeff Jensen '09

Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Math & Physics

Major: Chemistry

My name is Jeffrey but since we're friends, you can call me Jeff. I like chemistry, blink 182, and riding my bicycle. If you're stuck on that tough Lagrangian multiplier question in math 51 or just don't understand why you need a polar protic solvent for an SN1 mechanism then you should stop by my room in Otero on the third floor where, perhaps, for just one fleeting moment I can make you as nerdy as me.

Jennifer Wang '10

Subjects: Biology, Chemistry, & Math

Major: Biology

I am a junior majoring in biology and hoping to complete a minor in  computer science.  When I'm not busy with class, the Stanford Wind  Ensemble, and various other extracurricular activities, I enjoy  listening to and playing music and spending time with my friends.   Other interests include good food, action movies, and most recently,  digital photography (though I am by all means an amateur).
